At African Reptiles and Venom we maintain 500 venomous snakes to supply the snake venom for the production of the SAIMR polyvalent snake antivenom. Today I was extracting venom from 65 black mambas (Dendroaspis polylepis). These mambas gave me 23 ml of fluid venom. This should dry to about 6 grams of venom.
