Finnish soldier Simo Häyhä, known as the White Death, is considered the deadliest sniper in history. During the Winter War (1939–1940), he is credited with over 500 confirmed kills — all while using an iron-sight rifle without a scope. He preferred it that way. Scopes glinted in the sun. Iron sights didn’t. He blended into the snow and waited for hours without moving.
