Sources from CBS News say that the unexpected but brief airspace closure in the Texas border city of El Paso stemmed from disagreements between the Federal Aviation Administration and Pentagon officials over drone-related tests,

The secretary of transportation said the military had neutralized a drug cartel drone. Two officials said testing of counter-drone technology prompted the closure. The F.A.A. initially said it would last 10 days.

The airspace over El Paso's international airport was briefly closed Feb. 11 after the Pentagon disabled drones by Mexican cartels, official said.
