A winter weather system moving through the eastern U.S. could reorganize into a strong coastal storm off the East Coast later this weekend.

There is “increasing confidence” Massachusetts will be hit by a coastal winter storm on Sunday, a weather event that the latest forecasts project will bring significant snowfall to the region.

While the storm's worst impacts will be in southern states, the system will bring extreme cold and accumulating snow to New Hampshire.
