Daytime temperatures will hover around the freezing point when the potential winter weather could hit the Midlands.

After sunrise Sunday, most areas should see rain change to snow before it begins to taper off between midmorning and midday. Some snow or a mix of rain and snow could linger into the afternoon, especially toward Southern Maryland.

Rain and snow is expected in the early morning throughout New Castle County before it turns into snow around 8 a.m., creating slippery roads.
