The topic of John Cena's final opponent was doing the rounds ever since he announced his farewell tour. In the end, a tournament was announced to determine who would face Cena in his final match. Gunther won the tournament and the chance to face the Greatest of All Time.

Cena and Styles both lost to Gunther in their final bouts.
