19 First Alert Weather Day Monday: High winds and lake-effect snow

Lake-effect snow showers are expected Monday evening and overnight into Tuesday morning as temperatures drop to the low 20s. Windy conditions persist with a northwest wind between 20 and 30 mph, occasionally gusting up to 50 mph. Snow showers taper Tuesday morning, but another round of snow is likely late Tuesday into Wednesday.

A west wind tonight could gust over 50 mph at times as the damaging wind threat continues. Lake-effect snow will be in the area and treacherous travel where the squalls establish themselves. Locally over 5″ of additional snow is possible in squalls.
