The House is up to bat after the Senate passed a funding deal that sharply split Democrats and has immigration hawks threatening to vote “no,” a headache for Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) that could prolong a government shutdown that began at midnight on Saturday.

The Senate failed to advance legislation to fund major portions of the government as talks over reforming ICE continue.

Under the plan approved by the Senate, DHS would be funded temporarily to Feb. 13, setting up a deadline for Congress to find consensus restricting ICE operations.
