Bug Fire explodes to 6,500+ acres near Cold Springs, forcing evacuations across the Nevada-California border region.

Containment grew Wednesday morning on a brush fire that started Tuesday afternoon near Pleasanton and Sunol in Alameda County, and all evacuation orders have been lifted, according to Cal Fire.

Evacuation orders have been issued due to the Gann Fire in Calaveras County.

Fire crews working to fully contain a wildfire south of Pleasanton that forced evacuations earlier this week were more than three-quarters of the way there by midday Friday. Cal Fire said that firefighters had contained 85% of the Little Fire by 11 a.

The blaze, dubbed the Ridge fire, was reported around 3 p.m. near the 39000 block of Gorman Post Road and quickly burned about 100 acres of surrounding brush in northwestern Los Angeles County.
